INTRODUCTION
“Mind Interrupted”
-Experiencing Technical Difficulties…
Have
you ever experienced your mind shifting and not being in control
of
your own thoughts? Have you ever been in a season with so much movement,
turmoil and chaos in it? I know you have; many of us have experienced those
feelings. This book “Mind Interrupted”-Experiencing Technical Difficulties will
become your personal manual and will instruct you to move, apply and pay
attention to your own life. God will lead, direct and protect you however; YOUR
foot steps must be ordered at all times. Tawana Williams’ life was ordered by
God from birth on May 23, 1963 as she was blessed to be born without arms.
Throughout the years she had so many obstacles in her way and beat the odds
over and over again. As a nationally known Motivational Speaker, Author, TV
Personality, Award winner, Vocalist, Artist, Les Brown Platinum Speaker, Mentor
and CEO however; nothing could’ve prepared Tawana for her next experience. For
many years, she was the master motivator, the captain of her own ship (her
mind) and the keeper of her thoughts and abilities. Life knocked on her door of
challenges once again and this time, it exploded. It was November 27, 2011 she
was confused and discombobulated in her mind; there were so many interruptions,
it was crazy, out of order and out of her character. Tawana Williams didn’t
know her name, social security number, date of birth nor her husband Toby.
Two
days prior, there was a one sided altercation that tipped the scales by
Tawana’s baby sister; it got ugly, violent and physical. Tawana was always so
positive, persistent and powerful, such an optimist; thinking back, it was
probably a matter of time before something erupted in her life. “New
level- New Devil.”
At
that time in her life Tawana had seven men-tees that she was accountable for on
a weekly basis, and because her Mind was Interrupted with chaos
and confusion, they too experienced those feelings. Have you ever had a Domino
Effect Syndrome (DES); where the first square fell then everything after that
fell too? I know you have. Her men-tees were experiencing their own greatness as
up and coming Speakers, Authors, and Leaders. On November 27, 2011 it stopped
them too as Tawana’s Mind was Interrupted because of a stroke…
“Life never knows your physical address, it just
continues to knock at you door; especially when you least expect it.”-Tawana
Williams
Did
you know?
- That each year 700,000 people suffer a stroke. 500,000 of these strokes are first occurrences, while the rest are repeat strokes.
- Every 45 seconds someone has a stroke in the United States.
- The most common stroke is called the Transient Ischemic Attack or (TIA) Also known as a ministroke, brain attack, or amaurosis fugax.
- A person suffering a (TIA) can experience difficulty speaking or moving the arm and leg on one side of the body.
- The symptoms of a (TIA) last anywhere from a few minutes to up to 24 hours.
- A (TIA) is your Stroke warning
As
you read this introduction, I want you to think about what Interruptions you’ve had
lately? Maybe it wasn’t a stroke, cancer, a physical sickness or ailment that
interrupted you; perhaps, just as Tawana’s experience, it was that negative
noise from a family member that triggered something in your mind that pushed
you. Many times we choose to carry someone else’s Monkey on our back, instead
of giving that Monkey back to its rightful owner.
“When a mind is trained to do a certain task it can
perform it well.”
–Keither ‘Toby’ Williams…
“Mind
Interrupted”-Experiencing Technical
Difficulties, will challenge you to STOP owning the
negativity, the drama, the chaos and issues that are not yours in the first
place. So how did we get to this place? Is it because we’ve decided to do what
we thought was best? Perhaps, could it be that we’re battling with the thoughts
that have been embedded in our own minds by other people? Maybe it’s because “we don’t know what we don’t
know.” After reading “Mind interrupted”-Experiencing Technical
Difficulties, you will learn to move past your fears and doubts that
have been holding you captive in your mind. Tawana proclaimed for many years
that, “life doesn’t come with instruction nor directions; sometimes you’ve
just got to Figure It Out.” She realized time and time again that the
enemy was weak and the only power HE possessed was the power that SHE
released. This book will guide and change your thinking about mis-haps,
possibilities, limitations and mind-set structures. It is a Must
Read!

Foreword

Tawana Williams Husband
and Best friend
Contemplating how to put these words
onto the pages of my soul mate Tawana’s latest book was a challenge and a
difficult task for me. We’ve been friends for more than forty years. In fact as
children we played together, I fed her cookies and candy, tied her shoelaces
and yes-carried her in my arms when she got tired of walking; I
love me some Tawana. Seriously, devastating loss often comes with a
price. Tawana’s powerful mind-set revolutionized the words “Figure It Out” and “I
can do it.” So there’s no surprise to me that although she was born
without arms, gang raped, raped by her step father, addicted to crack for ten
years, experienced abortion and motherhood, ultimately, I knew that she would figure
it out and overcome her latest dilemma; a ‘stroke.’
My wife Tawana has always been the
one who ‘finds the need and feels it,’ once again, she did it with her
latest book “Mind Interrupted”-Experiencing Technical Difficulties. Her mind-set
is so positive and she has an uncompromising spirit that even a ‘stroke’
couldn’t move her into a level of comfort and couldn’t stop her persevering
will.
Comfort zones cause most people to become complacent and eventually they quit;
not my wife Tawana. She is so powerful that the enemy couldn’t take it anymore;
especially at her last speaking engagement that you’ve read in The Praise of
this book by Tawana’s friend Ms. Vernordra
Haynie. It was so anointed and mesmerizing; words couldn’t describe the power
she had. On that day, we shut the enemy down! It tried to Form and Prosper;
however, It Did Not Work.
In Tawana’s first book “I’m
Different But I Can,” It didn’t work; she shut it
down. Her second book “Unarmed But Dangerous” The Tawana
Williams Story of Relentless Struggle and Ultimate Victory, people were
blessed by her tenacious spirit of Never Giving Up; she shut it down.
Then came her third book “Motivation for The Soul”-Move Or Be Moved,
she shook many foundations with her Circle of Friends and their stories; they
shut that book down too. Her fourth book “Da-Bomb” Systems That
Create a Wealthy Mind-Set exploded and once again, it was shut down. Which
leads us to her latest book “Mind Interrupted”-Experiencing
Technical Difficulties and HE the enemy, tried to shut HER
down again; however, “God had his hands on her.” Did you
know that my wife Tawana is a force to be reckoned with; therefore, she
couldn’t stop if she wanted to.
After completing this book you too
will understand how to experience the HEALING Power of God through your
own difficult moments, experiences and adversities. Faith comes by hearing and
hearing the word of God, so let me ask you a
question. How does a deaf person have Faith? My answer is by
Understanding because you must understand that the ways of God are not
the ways of man…
God Bless You! Keither ‘Toby’ Williams-Tawana’s
husband
